Cheap Fish Oil

Linseed oil, help?

I bought oil, sunflower oil (that is what I usually use for cooking),
with addition of linseed oil. I usually buy pure, but I am on a very tight budget now, and that was cheaper than poor sunflower. Now I opened it, and it smells so badly. I thought it would smell like something fresh and natural, it stinks like a barrel in which fish was salted. What am I to do with this oil now? It’s one litre bottle, and I am so sorry about the money I paid for it! And I can’t really afford throwing it out, and do not think that I will be able to eat it, after all. I made rice and beans today, and wanted to add it, but then thought that it would spoil the whole two-days supply. Or maybe if you cook with it then this smell would go? I am afraid to try, in case it will be bad and I will be forced to eat it anyway. It does stink when in bottle, and I drink a teaspoon, and it stinks.

I use linseed oil on my baseball mitt, and to treat my deck as a water sealer. I wouldn’t eat it.
